York High School was formed in 2007 by the merger of two secondary schools and serves the communities of West York. We provide education to nearly 800 young people from age 11 to 16. As well as the standard academic curriculum, York High offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities and many residential educational visits.

York High School was the first Stonewall Champion School in York and is proud for its work on improving tolerance and caring for others.
Mr Sims, the Head of School began teaching at the school in 2008. Mr Burton, the Executive Headteacher took up post in 2017. In January 2017, the school was placed in Special Measures by Ofsted and is working to restore its “Good” rating.
