Scarcroft Primary School is a successful, over subscribed school with an excellent reputation in the south of the City of York. Scarcroft provides a stimulating and exciting environment for pupils. Its academic record is outstanding and the school places a strong emphasis on The Arts.

Scarcroft is very proud of its Victorian heritage and believes that traditional values still have a place in the modern world. Scarcroft expects all its pupils to be polite, well-mannered and caring members of their local community.
The headteacher, Anna Cornhill, has led Scarcroft since 2000. She led the school to Beacon status in the same year and by 2009 secured an Ofsted Outstanding grade. Anna is a National Leader of Education.
Scarcroft has also been recognised with a Basic Skills Quality Mark, a City of York Inclusion Award and an Eco-Schools Award.
